An accomplished composer (past student of Dr. Jeremy Pike and Professor David Horne), Ms Farrimond was awarded first prize in Chetham’s Biennial Carol Competition (2016) with her piece ‘A Saviour’s Lullaby’. This piece received its premiere in Manchester Cathedral, and appeared on BBC Primetime Programme ‘Christmas City’.  Lucy was commissioned to write opening credits for Leigh Film Festival and her piece ‘Sentiment’, for solo euphonium and brass band, was entered into a time capsule in St. Peter’s Square - Manchester (2016), commemorating the completion of the ‘Metrolink’. Recent compositional highlights have included two performances of her piece ‘HER VOICE’’ for six upper voices (‘Voices of Women 2023’ / ‘EMPOWER 2024’. Compositional output encompasses repertoire for; romantic orchestra ‘Agnus Dei - 2018’, chamber ensembles, brass band ‘Sentiment - 2017’, a cappella and accompanied choral works 'A Saviour's Lullaby' and accompanied solo voice ‘Four Songs of Quarantine - Song Cycle - 2020’.

Lucy is set to release her debut album 'Where The Heart Roams' in late 2025 - featuring brand new original works for voice and piano quintet. Recently, Lucy premiered 'The Familiar Path' for voice and piano (set to feature on the album)  at the Leeds University International Concert Series to great acclaim.
