STOLLER HALL - Chamber Concert ๐ถ
It was an absolute delight to perform for Manchester Chamber Concert Society's 'Charlotte Series' last Monday, with 'RESPIRA' - a self-founded ensemble with Rose McLachlan (piano) and Bogdan Jeler (flute).
All of us Chetham's alumni, it was very special for us to return to the school which began our musical careers. I was in my final year of study at Chetham's when the 'Stoller Hall' opened, so it felt, poignantly, like I had come full circle.
As a trio, we performed works including; Gaubert's dreamy 'Soir Paรฏen', Schubert's renowned 'Shepherd on the Rock' (originally scored for clarinet), Previn's evocative 'Two Remembrances', Delibe's famous 'Flower Duet' and finally, my own chamber arrangement of 'La Vie en Rose'. It is always a joy for me to compose, especially for instrumental ensembles rarely heard together.
It was a privilege to perform alongside 'Chetham's Brass Ensemble' and the 'Aestus Quartet'. Such talent! Thank you goes to 'Manchester Chamber Concerts Society' and 'The Stoller Hall' for having us, and of course to all who came to support!
